However we also have an app available that runs on both Mac, Win, & Linux, to make programming your Fader that much easier, PLUS the ability to save and reload presets, backup/restore the unit, and other useful functions.

Yes! The onboard Fader OS software is intuitive, and you can program the unit without a computer.

No, these are high quality, passive Japanese Alps faders. Generally motorized faders are not useful when editing MIDI CC values.

The faders we make are all standard class compliant MIDI faders. They will work with most DAWs that read MIDI data, including:

No. All the units are class-compliant MIDI, plug and play, and they do not require any drivers to work.

All units come with a 2-year warranty on manufacturer defects. Additionally, you have 30 days to evaluate them.

I do not believe in “planned obsolescence,” so I build all my units to last a lifetime.

While MIDI 2.0 spec has been around now for a few years, it will still be some time (a few more years likely) before it's widely adopted or implemented.

Our units are MIDI 1.0 compliant, but when MIDI 2.0 does hit the scene in a big way, be assured that they will be compatible with MIDI 2.0 100%, as MIDI 2.0 is backward compatible.

We want you to be thrilled with your faders! If for some reason you're not, you have a full 60 days to return a unit to us.

First, don't panic!

On older units, it could be because of the USB cable. If you use a USB-C to USB-C cable, it won't power up.

Totally inconvenient! I know! I have solved this issue with a new internal cable, and you can contact me to obtain one for free (just pay shipping).

In the meantime, use the USB-A to USB-C cable provided with the unit, and you'll be fine.

If that doesn't solve the problem, then of course please contact me for further support.

I go into detail on this on the Manufacturing Time page, but the short answer is: the units are “built-to-order.” That means I start making your unit when you order. I don’t keep stock of dozens or hundreds of them, because I make them myself, one-at-a-time, and I have a “day” job too.

At some point the units may be made in a factory by the hundreds, but until then, I turn every screw, solder every joint, program every line of code, assemble every unit by hand, test them, ship them, and handle the business, all by myself.

Please understand this when ordering so you are prepared to wait for your unit to be built. Thank you.

All the units use premium Alps faders with special internal cloth dust covers that I install over each fader by hand.

Initially, they can feel “crunchy”, almost a little bit like they are on a zipper, and a little uneven from fader to fader.

This is 100% normal on these lovely faders, and after a few weeks of use they break into smoother and smoother, with a bit of resistance, which a lot of folks just love, and they even out like fine wine.

I can build units without the dust covers, in which case the faders feel glass-smooth, however, there is then no protection for dust, and also many like a bit of resistance to their faders.

If you’d like a unit without the internal dust covers installed, please contact me first prior to purchase and I’ll make a note of it.

I highly recommend the units with the internal dust covers for the benefits they bring.

Fair complaint. I’m frustrated too!

The truth is, it costs around $40 for the base shipping to USA.

However due to recent tariffs, an additional 10% of the order value is added onto the shipping too!

Now I subsidize part of this by taking a risk: I declare the unit’s value at around half the cost. But still it adds an additional $30 to the cost of the shipping (should actually be more than double that). And if something happens to your unit in transit, I am out hundreds of dollars.

All of this is to say, I’m sorry, I’m aware of it, I’m already mitigating the total cost by taking a risk for you, but still shipping is very high. And we have a certain president to thank for “protecting” US citizens by charging them more for imports. I’ll stop there, but you get the idea. It sucks.

But I absolutely guarantee the units I make are worth it :)

If you’re having trouble getting Scene Editor working and getting errors, here’s some things to try:

• Make sure you’ve downloaded the right version for your unit.

• Make sure your firmware version is up to date. The Scene Editor doesn’t work with older firmware

• Try a different USB cable. Trust me! So many issues with the Scene Editor connecting ends up being a dodgy USB cable.

• Also, some USB cables are power only, so make sure you’re using a USB cable that handles both power and data.

• Try connecting your unit directly to your computer, with a USB-C to USB-C cable.
